Jason ~
I am a member of the OES (Order of the Eastern Star) located at Mt. Clemens Masonic Temple. I have only meet wonderful gentlemen who are members of the Mt. Clemens Lodge. Granted, Lyle Ballard is one of them (along with many members of his family) I am a transfer from another lodge in the area. I can tell you that in this life, we choose what the positives and negatives that we take from experiences…and truly “get out of it, what we put into it”. I would suggest you phone Lyle. All you have to do is “Ask one to be one”.

King Solomon, we haven’t heard from you in a while. I imagine you’re still working on a reply. When you do reply, please clarify some things for us. Do you include the Secretary, Senior Deacon, Senior Warden and the Worshipful Master as “non-attenders”? Are you speaking of attendance at the regular communications, or the clandestine meetings where the REAL business of the lodge takes place?

Interesting how you achieve growth with a record number of Brothers at risk of suspension for non-payment of dues. If the problems of the lodge are so small that they can be handled, why aren’t they being handled? I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing outside interference by “non attenders”. By this description, I assume that you mean non Masons trying to interfere with your work. Otherwise, what you’re saying is that other Masons and even members of your own lodge should have no say in matters and are best kept in the dark unless they can be “attenders”. Which one of the noble tenets of our fraternity does this exemplify, wise Solomn?

Brothers:
Dont believe all that you read. Come and witness this for yourself. Growth does not come without conflict in one form or another. Mt. Clemens is alive and well. Not without small problems, but nothing that they cannot handle amongst themselves without outside interference by non attenders. I still have my faith and wisdom that Mt. Clemens #6 is still and always be an outstanding lodge in this great fraternity.Comment by King Solomon | September 19, 2009 <!– @ 10:24 am –> | Edit | Reply

Hiram Abiff;
It is refreshing to hear your words. If only we all could just pause and look at what our for-fathers in Masonry did and believed in. We all as Masons today have room for improvement, some more than others, as we are again reminded that we all are not on the proper square.
Thank you Hiram, whom ever you are, for sending your words to dwell on. Hopefully more comments will be added to this site.Fred Hagedorn

Bro LaBounty, I use not a “loose” definition of “decline”, but a broad one. A lodge should not be measured only by how many parties they throw and how many new members they bring in. It should also be measured by gauges such as: their adherence to the tenets of our institution, the respect shown to their Past Masters (especially the proficient ones), their obedience to the Blue Book, and conformance to the Michigan ritual. In these areas, Mt. Clemens #6 comes up quite short. Make an effort to correct “the wrong” of the lodge and “the right” will not need to be discovered, it will become evident.

Jason, sure there’s a lodge, but if it’s MASONRY you’re interested in, look elsewhere
